About Sayuri

Sayuri, who also goes by “Sanketsu-girl” Sayuri, is a J-pop singer-songwriter whose music has been featured as themes for several anime TV series and films.

∙ As a teenager, Sayuri dropped out of high school to form the acoustic duo LONGTAL, who busked on street corners and played in coffee shops.
∙ At age 16, she was awarded the Grand Prix at 2012’s Yamaha Music Revolution—Japan’s largest music competition—which prompted her to explore a solo career.
∙ “Mikazuki,” her 2015 debut single, was a Top 20 hit in Japan and was later used for the closing credits to the anime TV series Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace.
∙ Sayuri collaborated with the Japanese rock band My First Story on “Remei,” which was used as the opening theme to the second season of the anime series Golden Kamuy.
Me—Sayuri’s intimate 2020 album featuring only her voice and guitar—was a Top 5 hit on both Japan’s Oricon and Billboard charts.
