Known simply as Grace until 2019, Saygrace broke through in her native Australia in 2015 with her version of Lesley Gore’s 1963 hit “You Don’t Own Me.” Saygrace’s take on the song topped the Australian singles chart and reached No. 4 in the UK. • Saygrace is from a musical family. Her grandparents once toured with the Bee Gees, and her older brother Conrad Sewell is a successful pop singer with several hits to his name. • “You Don’t Own Me” appeared on Saygrace’s debut EP, Memo, which came out in Australia in 2015 and the US in 2016. • Her first full-length, 2016’s FMA, reached the Top 40 in both the US and Australia. • At one point in July 2015, Saygrace and Conrad Sewell had adjacent songs on the Australian singles chart: “You Don’t Own Me” was No. 3, while Conrad’s single “Start Again” held the No. 2 spot.
