R&B singer-songwriter Savannah Cristina offers “soul therapy” through uplifting songs like her 2019 viral sensation “Self Care.”
• The South Florida native grew up singing in her church choir. As a teenager, she got into slam poetry, which paved the way for her music career.
• In 2016, she released her debut single, “Spend It on Me,” which began life as a poem. It later appeared on her 2018 project Florida Girl.
• Cristina soon gained notice with videos of herself singing in unusual locations. In 2019, she called out of work, went to the beach, and recorded a performance of the song “Self Care.” The video went viral, racking up more than 6 million views.
• Savannah released the 2020 EP Self Care through Dollaz N Dealz, the same label that helped introduce another Florida star, Kodak Black.
