Satchmo's Ghost

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Inspired by the “ghost” of Louis Armstrong and his passion for swing music as well as the blues, we joined forces to create a band called Satchmo’s Ghost. We love music that swings, songs that have a punch to them, and are easy to dance to. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alan Mac, Anachronistic Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Louis Prima, The Wildest! (Expanded Edition) [2002 Remaster] Our fave albums include BBVD's first album- all great songs thot swing big-time and inspired us- and Louis Prima's Wildest! album- serious swinging there too! And we've got to include the album of one of our band members, naturally. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Minnie the Moocher” Minnie's sad saga is such a fun song to play in our live shows- lots of great riffs, a compelling story and it's a truly enduring song- covered by tons of artists since 1931! Our arrangement is inspired by the Robbie Williams version (2013 album). What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? We love playing our music for our fans and friends. One memorable moment was when we played an outdoor gig at a retirement community. The stage was outdoors next to the gold course with a line of 30 golf carts of people listening who beeped applause Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Play more outdoor concerts. Here in California, the weather is almost always great for music outside. Love it!
