About Sara Watkins

Sara Watkins first gained notice as the fiddler and singer for Nickel Creek, the progressive bluegrass trio that was one of the most visible acts in the bluegrass renaissance of the 1990s. Following the band's amicable split in 2007, Watkins began a solo career with the release of her self-titled debut in spring 2009. Produced by Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones, Sara Watkins is an adult-alternative pop album with country and bluegrass influences, as opposed to Nickel Creek's more traditional acoustic sound. ~ Charity Stafford
