About Samantha Jade
Samantha Jade is a singer/songwriter, pop star, and winner of the fourth season of The X Factor Australia, best known for her chart-topping hits “Firestarter,” “Soldier,” and the theme for cult dance film Step Up. Hailing from Perth, Jade began her entertainment career as a child model and steadily grew into a recording artist. An early demo got her signed at Jive Records in 2004, prompting the aspiring diva to move to Hollywood where she started producing original material and cowriting songs for teen stars JoJo and Ashley Tisdale. Jade returned to Perth after her record deal fell through in 2010, auditioning for X-Factor Australia two years later and becoming the first woman ever to win. Her post-show breakout was “What You've Done To Me,” which debuted at No. 1 and set the tone for triumphant pop epics Samantha Jade (2012) and Nine (2015), as well as her acting turn as Kylie Minogue in the miniseries INXS: Never Tear Us Apart.
