About Sam Clawson
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a 5 or 6 year old, I specifically remember jamming out to Aaron Carter's music (I Love Candy was a personal fav) and as much Kidz Bop stuff as I could get my hands on (man, I was a sucker for that stuff). What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Gregory Alan Isakov, Gregory Alan Isakov with the Colorado Symphony The Killers, Battle Born (Deluxe Edition) The Lumineers, Cleopatra (Deluxe Edition) When I first heard the Gregory Alan album my mind and heart were actually blown apart. I grew up studying classical music but always loved writing songs too, so it was life changing for me to see the power of the orchestra combined with songwriting Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Cenote Calavera” This soundtrack was so much fun to write--combining a traditional classical orchestra with ancient mayan elements like the conch shell, marimba, and ethnic percussion--it was one of funnest projects I've ever been a part of. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? By far conducting an orchestra of phenomenal musicians playing my arrangements for the National Parks. I was actually on cloud nine for like a whole week after it. Truly a dream come true. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Nope, I think I've pretty much peaked haha. All joking aside, I've been blessed with a lot of amazing experiences so far but probably my all-time bucket list item is conducting a live concert orchestra that's playing my arrangements for a band.
