About Sally Wilfert

Sally Wilfert's warm, clear, agile vocals have supported a lasting career as a singer/actress with on- and off-Broadway musicals to her credit. She was cast in her first Broadway ensemble in 1997 and later appeared in shows including 2004's Assassins, which took home the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. She took part in the PBS broadcasts of South Pacific in Concert from Carnegie Hall (2006) and Side by Side by Sondheim (2011). Her resumé also includes numerous regional productions and national tours. A recording of her two-woman show All the Girls with Rebecca Luker saw release in 2020. Sally Wilfert made her Broadway debut as a member of the ensemble in Disney's King David, which played at the New Amsterdam Theatre in May 1997. Originating the role of Naomi Temple, she was later cast alongside Kristen Bell in a musical version of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer that opened on the Great White Way in April 2001. In the Tony-winning 2004 Broadway revival of Assassins, she was among the swings. Wilfert landed on television in 2006, both with a guest spot on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and as a member of the ensemble for the PBS broadcast of South Pacific in Concert from Carnegie Hall, starring Reba McEntire. That year, Wilfert also toured the country with The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Her dozens of roles off-Broadway, in regional theater, in touring productions, and in special concert events included the televised fundraising concert Side by Side by Sondheim in 2011. She also appeared on episodes of the web series Submissions Only (2011) and NBC's The Blacklist (2019). Wilfert teamed up with fellow Broadway alum and self-declared best friend Rebecca Luker for a two-woman musical revue conceived as a part of a Duo Concert Series at Broadway supper club 54 Below. Named for lyrics from the Patty Griffin song "Be Careful," All the Girls premiered in September 2018. Featuring songs spanning Stephen Sondheim, the Indigo Girls, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, a recording of the show appeared on PS Classics in late 2020. ~ Marcy Donelson
