About Sabrina Claudio
“I like to think of myself as a storyteller,” pop and R&B singer Sabrina Claudio tells Apple Music, asserting that she’s not always writing from personal experience. “It’s kind of like channeling that other person that maybe I’m not, but I can be. And I’m not afraid to be vulnerable in that moment when I’m writing the songs.” Claudio, born in 1996 in Miami, Florida, has been exploring that vulnerability since her first EP, Confidently Lost, in 2017, on which she established her simmering sound with easy lilting arrangements, sensual grooves, and a smoky, nimble voice. Later that same year, Claudio began expanding on her soulful vision with a confident full-length digital mixtape About Time, chasing bigger, more intricate arrangements like the velvety “Unravel Me.” The Apple Music Up Next artist may be crafting stories, but her magnetic delivery—sometimes staggering in its intensity, always emotionally authentic—blurs the lines between author and protagonist. Since her debut, she’s released at least an album a year, finding a poppier side on 2018’s No Rain, No Flowers, and refining it with 2019’s Truth Is, on which she collaborated with ZAYN and offered up a Spanish-language version of the melancholy title track.
