About Ryan Bingham

Singer-songwriter Ryan Bingham has paid homage to his Texas country roots across half a dozen Americana albums dedicated to the lost and wayward. ∙ Mescalito, Bingham’s 2007 major-label debut, was produced by former Black Crowes guitarist Marc Ford after he saw the singer play a gig at an empty bar. ∙ Bingham shared an Oscar, Golden Globe, and Grammy Award with T Bone Burnett for the acoustic ballad “The Weary Kind,” from the acclaimed 2009 drama Crazy Heart. ∙ His 2010 collection of hard-luck stories, Junky Star, debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 and at No. 8 on the Top Rock Albums chart—both career highs. ∙ The Americana Music Association awarded him its top honor, Artist of the Year, in 2010. ∙ “Until I’m One with You," Bingham’s theme song for the TV series The Bridge, launched his Axster Bingham Records label, through which he’s issued all his music since 2014. ∙ In 2019, he produced his own music festival, The Western—a two-day event in Luckenbach, Texas, featuring sets from such artists as Margo Price, Old 97’s, Colter Wall.
