Robbers On High Street

About Robbers On High Street

Fans of thoughtful, Kinks-inspired songcraft welcomed Poughkeepsie's Robbers on High Street with open arms when they released their debut album in 2005 and toured the States extensively to promote it. The band's ambitious reach and sophisticated pop mechanics also earned them comparisons to Spoon, but by their '07 follow-up, they had already started carving out a special niche for themselves. The second album boasted lush production values courtesy of Italian producer Daniele Luppi, and a deeper and wider sonic palette, with the addition of horns and strings. The band has since relocated to New York City, and plays frequently in the area.
