Rapper Robb Bank$ has stepped out of the shadow cast by his father, dancehall superstar Shaggy, to forge his own career in the South Florida hip-hop scene. • Born in New York City, Bank$ moved to Florida with his mother when he was six. He wasn’t raised by Shaggy, and the two have had a rocky relationship. • Bank$ started rapping in sixth grade, using the name Emcee. • His 2012 debut mixtape, Calendar, found him weaving his raspy flows over soothing Aaliyah and Outkast samples. • Bank$ became known around the burgeoning Florida rap scene as an associate of the rebellious Raider Klan movement, then as part of XXXTENTACION and Ski Mask the Slump God’s Members Only collective. • The rapper’s 2016’s C2 Death of My Teenage mixtape features a collaboration with XXXTentacion and a track named after his father’s 2001 hit “It Wasn’t Me.” • In 2019, Bank$ teamed up with fellow Floridian rapper Wifisfuneral for the dark joint project Conn3ct3d.
