Rob Luft

Rob Luft is an award-winning jazz guitarist and composer from London. Fully versed in the tradition, his fluid playing style freely engages influences gathered from Celtic folk, West and South African music, blues, rock, ambient, and groove. Riser, his 2017 leader debut, won accolades for its sophisticated compositions. In 2020, he and Elina Duni formed a quartet with Fred Thomas and Mathieu Michel for Lost Ships on ECM. Luft also released Life Is the Dancer that year. In 2023, the quartet returned with A Time to Remember, followed by an international tour and the Luft solo outing Dahab Days. The following year he joined John Surman on Words Unspoken, and bassist Arild Andersen and drummer Daniel Sommer on As Time Passes. 2026's Reaching for the Moon was recorded in duo with Duni.
