About RMR
Born in Ghana and raised in Minneapolis, singer-songwriter and rapper RMR—pronounced “Rumor”—is known for mixing genres from country, pop, and rock to hip-hop, soul, and R&B, and keeping himself masked, until unveiling his face in 2023. He began releasing music in 2020 with the song “RASCAL”—also on his debut album DRUG DEALING IS A LOST ART—which reworks the Rascal Flatts song “Bless the Broken Road.” That track became a viral hit credited with creating the “piano trap” genre. That same year, he released a short film project called 4th QTR Medley, a tribute to the music of The Goo Goo Dolls, Drake, and Matchbox Twenty. He then followed with several singles in the subsequent years; his second full-length, Tribune, debuted in 2024. In his career, the artist has worked alongside Akon, Future, Lil Baby, Ryan Lewis, Tech N9ne, Timabland, Wiz Khalifa, Young Thug, and more. RMR’s passionate sound allows him to explore a spectrum of emotions, whether anger and catharsis (“Sweet Divorce” from Tribune), love and lust (2025’s “Adore It”), or vulnerability (2025’s “TOO COLD”).
