About Rethabile Khumalo

Rethabile Khumalo has always been talented. Born to singers Winnie Khumalo and Sea Bee in Soweto, South Africa in 1996, Rethabile attended the National School of the Arts (NSA) and by her early teens was already performing on big stages with her mother, Winnie, as a backing singer/dancer. Between 2012 and 2013, the singer-songwriter was a contestant on seasons eight and nine of Idols SA, and in 2018 had a short stint with DJ Tira’s Afrotainment label. It was her sublime vocals on DJ Zinhle’s 2019 hit “Umlilo” which propelled her into the spotlight. On her 2020 debut album Like Mother Like Daughter released under Winnie’s Winnkay Music, she collaborated with renowned producers Vigro Deep and Master KG on lead single “Ntyilo Ntyilo.” Rethabile’s music often straddles different dance styles, with her roaring voice and compelling songwriting taking center stage.
