Rein

One-woman Swedish electro-industrial project Rein serves up a tuneful take on EBM, combining poppy melodies with raw synth sounds, pounding beats, and a healthy dose of punk attitude. Joanna Reinikainen was born in Stockholm and started making music at the age of 13. She set out her stall in 2016 with her eponymous debut EP, filled with high-energy, aggressive, and confrontational electronic music. Over the next couple of years, Rein released a string of singles expanding her sound with elements of rave, synth pop, and even rap. Her debut album, Reincarnated, appeared in 2020; an EP of dub mixes by Boys Noize followed in 2022.
