Ram Narayan

For many connoisseurs of Indian classical music, Ram Narayan's name is synonymous with his chosen instrument, the sarangi. Born December 25, 1927, in Udaipur in India, he justly earned himself an international reputation, recording for a great many labels along the way, including Amigo, Nonesuch, and Stil. His daughter, Aruna Narayan Kalle, also became a proficient sarangi player and performed sarangi duets with her father (before his death at age 96 in 2024) as well as performing as a sarangi soloist.
