Melding electronics and live post-rock instrumentation, Røsenkøpf were formed in 2010 by Soren Roi, Saira Huff, and Emil Bognar-Nasdor. Defying genres, the group draws upon the dark imagery of goth and industrial rock, but takes a left turn by integrating swag 808 beats and nightmarish screaming. What started out as a pet project between active members of the Brooklyn hardcore scene took off over the course of two years as the trio branched out from simple drum machine demos to conceptual live shows. After self-releasing two tapes, Røsenkøpf released their self-titled debut on Brooklyn’s Wierd Records in 2012. ~ Jason Lymangrover
