About Quick Change
Hailing from the suburb of Markham, on Chicago's South Side, Quick Change were formed in 1983 and enjoyed quite a bit of local fame as a heavy metal covers band before starting to write their own material. In fact, when they released their debut album, Circus of Death, in 1988, vocalist Dwayne Whitehead, guitarists Dubs Anderson and Mike McCarthy, bassist Mike Saint, and drummer John Kruczek exhibited a serious Anthrax/SOD influence -- not only in their crisp, high-speed riffing, but their odd mixture of real world, shock-horror, and just plain silly song topics as well. Unfortunately, they didn't share those other bands' talents or originality, the album flopped, and by 1991 Quick Change had folded. However, they would unexpectedly re-form in the year 2000 with three original members, plus new vocalist Russ Barron and bass player Chris Harbin (ex-Stone Groove), and go on to record two self-released studio albums, Money, Lust and Greed (2001) and IV Life (2003), along with 2004's Live at the Metro. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
