In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Our mom reluctantly gave my brother and I a $5 bill at the swap meet. My brother held my hand and we walked a few booths down the aisle. And mom was so angry when we came back with 2 records: Scorpions “Love At First Sting” and The Gap Band IV. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Marvin Gaye, Here, My Dear (Expanded Edition) Maxwell, BLACKsummers'night Miles Davis, Sketches of Spain Perfect, thought provoking, inspiring from a musical standpoint. Daniel Nielsen)” I was in my early 20’s, trying to understand my tumultuous love life. So I tried to write lyrics from my girlfriend’s perspective. Listening after 20 years, I don’t really know if I accomplished that, but the piano player got the feeling right. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The lead singer of the Wailing Souls walked into one of my acoustic gigs. I could see he was really enjoying the music, so I kept going and going. When I heard him say to his friend, “Man can WORK!”, I knew I was doing something right. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want my recorded music to take on a life of its own, for people to enjoy it just like I see it happen in person, people I’ve never met, laughing and smiling, enough that I can continue to make a living. That’s my dream.
