About Pierre Vallet

Pierre Vallet is a versatile musician active as both a conductor and a pianist in opera and orchestral music. He is also an educator, especially visible in the U.S. For the first part of his career, Vallet was active mostly as a pianist and chamber musician. He was noted as a vocal accompanist, having worked with A-list singers such as mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato; he worked with the latter on her 2014 album Stella di Napoli. Vallet's debut as a featured artist came in 2016 when he conducted England's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, backing pianist Elizabeth Sombart on the album The Art of Chopin: The Piano Concertos. In 2018, Vallet recorded Nicolo Isouard's opera Cendrillon with the Manhattan School of Music Opera Theater. He rejoined Sombart and the Royal Philharmonic in 2023 for the album Mozart: Piano Concertos Nos. 20, 21, 23, and 27.
