Peter Holder

About Peter Holder

As Sub-Organist at London's Westminster Abbey since 2017, Peter Holder plays for daily services and directs the cathedral's choir. He has also toured widely as a soloist, made several recordings, and been active as an educator. In 2012, Holder made his recording debut with the St. Albans Cathedral Choir as organist on an album of Mendelssohn's choral music. In 2014, he was named Sub-Organist at St. Paul's Cathedral in London. There, Holder presented two Grand Organ Galas in which he performed the music of Poulenc and Handel, and he was heard at the 90th-birthday celebration of Queen Elizabeth II. In 2019, Holder was the organ soloist in a BBC Proms performance of the Glagolitic Mass by Janáček. In 2022, he was heard on an album featuring contemporary choral works by Judith Weir, Jonathan Dove, and Matthew Martin.
