Patti Scialfa

About Patti Scialfa

Patti Scialfa’s career has been somewhat overshadowed by her status as the wife of Bruce Springsteen and her work with his E Street Band, but she is also a first-rate singer and skilled songwriter with three mildly acclaimed albums to her credit. Scialfa emerged in the late 1970s as a session vocalist for the Brecker Brothers and Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes. In '82, she signed with Columbia Records, but her debut album was put on the back burner when she joined Springsteen as a replacement for the laryngitis-stricken Nils Lofgren. She remained with Springsteen, and they were married in 1991. Her debut album RUMBLE DOLL finally saw the light of day in 1993, initiating a sparse but not trifling solo recording career.
