In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The earliest I can think of is driving with my Dad in his truck, listening to this 70's funk CD every morning on the way to school. Funk to me is arguably the best genre, surely it's what cued me into arrangement, tone and capturing feeling on songs. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Frank Ocean, Blonde Kanye West, Late Registration Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly Late Registration was my very first album, which showcased new approaches in theme, musicality + ability to carve your own space in the genre. TPAB showed me what intention looks like. Blonde is a masterclass in songwriting and breaking the rules. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My mind is always geared towards the next idea and concept to help further our generations curiosity of self . Musically, it's to bridge the gap between jazz fusion via live band and the new sonic capabilities of today.
