Pale Sketcher

About Pale Sketcher

In 2007, Justin K. Broadrick put together Pale Sketches, a compilation of stray Jesu material that was at odds with the remainder of the Jesu discography. The tracks were more electronic, less reliant on grinding guitar riffs. As Pale Sketcher, Broadrick deconstructed -- or “demixed” -- Pale Sketches tracks, rendering them even more atmospheric and abstract, albeit with great emotional depth akin to early Boards of Canada and Ulrich Schnauss. Pale Sketcher was previewed on Ghostly International's May 2010 compilation Horizon Line/Ghostly by Night. Three months later, Ghostly issued Jesu: Pale Sketches Demixed, which contained alternate versions of each track from Pale Sketches. ~ Andy Kellman
