In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Some of our first memories are singing and making up fun songs with our families. When we became parents, those moments inspired us to create OTA El Hipopótamo. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jack Johnson, Jack Johnson and Friends: Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George The Beatles, The Beatles (The White Album) The Beatles’ White Album has some of our favorite songs and has always been a big inspiration for us. We also love Jack Johnson’s Curious George soundtrack because it showed us you can make kids’ music that’s fun for everyone, not just for kids. Tell us why you chose this song. “Luz La Avestruz Lullaby” The lullaby version of our song ‘Luz La Avestruz’ always brings back memories and reminds us how special it’s been to create music with and for our kids. It makes us realize how music can create really meaningful moments as parents. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments was releasing our first album and seeing families from different parts of the world connect with our songs. Knowing that our music brought joy and learning into their homes was and continues to be incredibly special. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes, we dream of expanding Ota el Hipopótamo into animated series, live shows, and more books — building a full world where children can learn, laugh, and grow with Ota across different experiences.
