About Orli Shaham

American pianist Orli Shaham attended the Rubin Academy of Music, and graduated from the Horace Mann School. She also enrolled in the pre-college division of the Juilliard School, and continued her music studies there while attending Columbia University. In 1995 she won the Gilmore Young Artist Award, and in 1997 she received the Avery Fisher Career Grant. As a concert artist, Shaham has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, L'Orchestre National de Lyon, the Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala, the Orchestra della Toscana, the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan, and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2008 she became the artistic advisor for the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, and organized its chamber music series, "Café Ludwig." She has performed recitals and recorded with her brother, violinist Gil Shaham. She has recorded albums for Deutsche Grammophon, Artemis Classics, Canary Classics, and Oberlin Music. ~ Blair Sanderson
