About Omer Adam

Omer Adam is an Israeli vocalist and recording artist. His work combines the melodies and modes of the Middle Eastern-Oriental Mizrahi style with Western pop instrumentation and rhythms. Though he began singing as a child, Adam came to the public's attention when he became a contestant on the seventh season of Kokhav Nolad, an Idol talent competition. He was later disqualified when a blogger revealed that he had been five months shy of his 16th birthday (the minimum age allowed for participation in competition). It made no difference in terms of his career, though, because by the time he was disqualified he had become an audience favorite and it was clear that the show's producers would have made an exception if they could -- after all, he made the finals. Adam's career took off after the incident with Kokhav Nolad. He immediately went on tour, playing more than 150 dates his first year. He issued his debut single "Lost Spirit" and quickly followed it with "Jose Soul." His first full-length, Melting Because of You, was issued at the close of 2010 and offered a series of tracks that comprised the two singles, new songs, and remixes. Adam wasted no time issuing a brand-new single entitled "Magic" (a duet with Itzik Kalia) in March, followed by "Million Kisses" and "Close to You" in May. All three tracks were hits at radio and social media. His sophomore long-player, Good Boy Bad Boy, was issued in January of 2012 and followed by the hit singles "Meusheret" and "Baniti Alayich." Touring and television appearances took up most of Adam's time over the next two years. His third album, Music and Silence, was issued in 2013 and signaled a newfound maturity that drew in new fans; it was followed by an even longer tour. I Thank You, his fourth album, was released in 2015. ~ Thom Jurek
