Singer ODIE draws on his Nigerian heritage in his unique blend of R&B and hip-hop. He pairs soothing vocals and sensitive lyrics with ambient production.
• ODIE grew up in Toronto and moved to the Bay Area when he was 12. As a kid, he absorbed the Afrobeat and highlife records played by his Nigerian immigrant parents. He also listened to modern hip-hop by artists like Kid Cudi.
• He formed Unité Recordings with his high school friend Yaqob and began working on his own music.
• Recorded almost entirely in his bedroom, ODIE’s full-length debut, Analogue, arrived in 2018. The album tells the story of his journey up to that point.
