In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. For Ken, it was seeing The Cure in Philadelphia. It was such an intensely communal experience. Also seeing My Bloody Valentine in 1991. My hearing was never been the same. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Massive Attack, Mezzanine Nine Inch Nails, The Downward Spiral Explicit Version Scritti Politti, Cupid & Psyche 85 We all love that Massive Attack album: its sense of atmosphere remains an inspiration to us. I love the pop sheen and production of that Scritti Politti album. Ken still owns his original copy from the 1980s. And what more can be said about NIN? We thought it would be a one-off thing, but here we are still making music as a band. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? We played a show at a club in Lawrence, Kansas and we bumped the Gay Karaoke Night. One of the patrons was so mad that he played pinball loudly during our set so we kept playing louder and louder. It was pretty intense. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We always wanted to do a dance theater piece and we are finally getting to do that in 2023!
