In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I grew up having musicians as parents, respectively playing the obo and the baritone/euphonium. I remember being in kindergarten, reciting the daily warmup melodies that they used to play each day in our living room. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bonobo, Migration Queens of the Stone Age, Queens of the Stone Age Bonus Track Version Tycho, Dive Bonobo & Tycho are two of the most influential artists to me, in terms of my own music. The emotional depth of these albums has helped shape Oak Ay into what it is. QOTSA, on the other hand, was the very first band that made me realize I love music. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Bye” This song was a happy accident when I was playing my Korg Minilogue in the studio, checking some levels. I started playing this pattern and instantly got hypnotized. Thankfully the whole thing was recorded, and the synth melody is the only element. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Our debut show in our hometown, playing at the festival Trondheim Calling. At this point Oak Ay performed as a duo. After staying in the studio for so long, it was magical to bring the energy live, and to see the emotion and dancing of the audience Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To leave a mark in someone's life - musically, emotionally, spiritually. This is always the main goal.
