Toronto rapper Nue emerged out of his city's vibrant underground rap scene, gaining significant exposure from just a few tracks posted online. With a style made up of Auto-Tuned melodies and lyrics delivered from deep in a druggy haze, Nue started out by delivering several singles in 2017 before his first mixtape materialized.
Nue's first songs were 2017's minimal and searching "Obvious" and the similarly toned "Alaska." Both songs arrived on several online platforms, including videos with stylized and sometimes trippy visuals that matched the hazy glow of the production. The druggy "Nightfall" arrived in the spring of the next year and soon after a remix featuring Pressa followed. By this time Nue was working with 300 Entertainment, which released his ten-song mixtape u met me at a strange time in late 2018. ~ Fred Thomas
