About No Money Enterprise
Originally concocted in Chicago and Brooklyn studios, drill music has spread its tendrils across the planet, and in Australia, No Money Enterprise (NME) is creating their own thrilling offshoot. The Logan City, Queensland quartet of Randy OT $avag.e, Tommy OT, OT RB, and OT Stallyon blends the genre’s fast rhythms with blaring samples and cheeky slang. They met in the early 2010s, bonding over their shared Polynesian heritage before breaking out with their 2019 single “German.” Atop mariachi horns, they get off clever bars (“Get dipped like a chip with no salsa,” goes one) and trade verses like their minds are melting together. Follow-up singles “Presto” and “No Reason” continue their exploration of Latin-infused drill music. With each “Awooo!” ad lib and every delirious record, NME is proving that drill music is less a cut-and-paste trend than a rich soil from which new sounds can grow.
