About Nicholas Bamberger
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The very first time I felt deeply moved by music was when I was around 8 years old. It was during a piano lesson and I suddenly understood that I could create my own music and not only play what was written on paper. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Adam Baldych, Brothers (with Helge Lien Trio & Tore Brunborg) Keith Jarrett, The Köln Concert (Live) Nils Frahm, All Melody The Köln Concert is an example of improvised music that deeply touches me. Brothers is an example of a beautifully executed interplay and balance between musicians. All Melody is an example of how organic electronic music can be. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Legion of Voices” I like this song because I wrote it very quickly and it has a dramatic evolution which is uncommon compared to other songs of mine. I also like the lightness of the vocals and the electronic elements. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I played at a festival in Zürich called Moods. I wasn't very well prepared and I felt very alone on stage at the beginning but as the concert hall got more and more packed, I trusted that improvising is a musical field where I have a lot to offer. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There is still so much to do. I want to collaborate more with other musicians. I also want to be more involved in film music or compose for theatre productions.
