In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One Christmas, when I was 5, I received a Casio PT-10 tiny white keyboard with very quantized demos and metronome. The high pitched sounds were my favorite especially Gamelan. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? EL-P, Fantastic Damage Lo Fidelity Allstars, How to Operate With a Blown Mind Radiohead, Kid A The top one was How To Operate With a Blown Mind because at that age I was just getting into breakbeat, big beat, trip-hop, and such. It was first of that type discotech-ish rhythm that explored poetic meandering. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Braids FM See the King (Justin Chase Remix)” This song is special because it is produced by a friend of mine named Kingsley Anukam who was so tough to get to perform but he finally did and sounded way better than me several times. This song originally had words on it by George Floyd at the end. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Taking Greyhound across the country from Portland, Oregon to Columbia, South Carolina in the middle of the summer to perform with some old and new friends at the Hunter Gatherer Hangar in late June of 2019. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Performing a couple of festivals would be alright, but what I really want is to write for a couple of people as well as them write for me. Some of these songs were intended for other people in the beginning.
