In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was young, Michael Jackson was a big thing in my house. I had his photo on my mirror, along with my dad and Gary Martin (Funk Brothers). I imprinted these stars in my mind as I listened to my mom blast Dolly Parton, Bob Marley, & Rod Stewart. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Marley & The Wailers, Legend – The Best Of Bob Marley & The Wailers Michael Jackson, Thriller Snoop Dogg, Doggystyle Doggy Style was the album that exposed me to hip-hop. Legend feels like a collection of my childhood memories, it’s incredible how deeply it still resonates with me. Lastly, Thriller. It's quite self-explanatory, best selling album of all time! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Committed” “Committed” has always been one of my favourites. It came from a raw and emotional time in my life involving my ex and continues to carry that weight and honesty. It also features my father Gary Martin on guitar, which makes it even more special! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I would say meeting Stevie Wonder at Muzik Nightclub in Toronto, performing for WeDay at Scotiabank Arena, OR playing during the Grey Cup Halftime Show for the Toronto Argos at the Rogers Centre! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? A World Tour. A Grammy. I want my songs to be heard across the globe and to leave a lasting, positive impact on the next generation. I also wouldn't mind the chance to collaborate with Jelly Roll or Teddy Swims one day! That would be dope.
