Momoko Gill

Momoko Gill is a core member of the jazz-adjacent community centered around London's Total Refreshment Centre studio and club scenes. A self-taught drummer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer, and producer, she's a first-call collaborator with Alabaster Deplume and Matthew Herbert, and worked on recordings and tours with And Is Phi, Coby Sey, Tirza, Ruth Goller, and Rozi Plain. With visual artist, filmmaker, and poet Nadeem Din-Gabisi, she records as An Alien Called Harmony. Her original work draws on jazz, left-field pop, neo-soul, hip-hop, and singer-songwriter fare, but isn't bound to one genre -- her compositions reflect feel not form. She's appeared with DePlume on Come with Fierce Grace (2023) and A Blade Because a Blade Is Whole (2025). She and Herbert collaborated on the celebrated, co-billed Clay in 2025. She signed with Strut that year and in February 2026 the label released her debut album, Momoko.
