About Milk 'N' Cookies

In the mid-'70s, New York's Milk 'n' Cookies were a flamboyant young act mixing glam, power pop, and proto punk. They recorded an album for Island in 1974, but it sat on the shelf until '76. In the interim, the band became part of the blossoming CBGB scene, but by the time the album finally came out, it was a case of too little too late, and with no support from the label, the band's career fell apart. Guitarist Ian North formed the bands Radio and Neo before going solo, while bassist Sal Maida went on to play with Sparks and others.
