About Miike Snow
Formed in 2007, indie-electro trio Miike Snow quickly became one of Sweden’s top exports while developing a glossy brand of pop music—without the trappings of pop stardom.
∙ In the years before Miike Snow, members Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg worked as Bloodshy & Avant, producing for such pop artists as Madonna, Britney Spears, and Kylie Minogue.
∙ Miike Snow, their 2009 debut, found an audience in the US—where lead single “Animals” went Gold—and in the UK, where the follow-up single, “Black & Blue,” hit No. 2 on the Dance chart.
∙ The trio’s production skills have led to numerous remix commissions—they’ve reworked tracks for such artists as Dua Lipa, Passion Pit, Yoko Ono, and fellow Swedes Peter Bjorn and John.
∙ Frontman Andrew Wyatt cowrote Bruno Mars’ Grammy-nominated 2010 single, “Grenade,” and has guested on tracks from Mark Ronson, Charli XCX, A-Trak, and Flume.
∙ “Genghis Khan,” a 2015 single released in the lead-up to the LP iii, was a radio hit in the US, peaking at No. 6 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart.
∙ Aside from Miike Snow, Karlsson is one-half of the popular EDM duo Galantis.
