Micah P. Hinson

Raised in a strict Catholic household in Abilene, Texas, Micah P. Hinson resorted to drug use early in his teen years. By the time he was barely an adult, his life story included addiction and even jail time. But those experiences were also channeled into the soulfully rustic home recordings that would make up his debut LP, MICAH P. HINSON AND THE GOSPEL OF PROGRESS. Garnering comparisons to everyone from Bright Eyes to Calexico, Hinson was the recipient of immediate acclaim. Jade Tree Records released his 2006 follow-up, MICHAH P. HINSON AND THE OPERA CIRCUIT, and U.K. label Full Time Hobby distributed the 2008 entry in the trilogy, MICAH P. HINSON AND THE RED EMPIRE ORCHESTRA.
