About Mia Mormino
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was five, I would lock myself in the bathroom and sing Alicia Keys repeatedly. During that same time, I remember blasting Eminem, Mary J Blige, and Dean Martin on family road trips and being allowed to swear only if it was in the song. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Beyoncé, Lemonade Halsey, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power Lady Gaga, The Fame Monster (Deluxe Edition) Each album represents a specific life stage for me. I discovered who I was with Gaga, tapped into my righteous anger with Beyonce, and celebrated the power of being a woman with Halsey. I was taught how to be my most authentic self with these albums. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Hide” This song is about my battle with depression and suicidal thoughts. I was nervous about releasing it, but putting myself out there allowed so many people to come forward and embrace their experience with the subject. That's what makes art so special. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When the sweetest fan asked me to write the title of my song "Hide" on a piece of paper and send it to her (she lives in France). The next day she got it tattooed onto her arm and told me how this song saved her life. I still can't believe it. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? One of my biggest dreams is to perform at the Hollywood Bowl. It's my favorite music venue of all time, and I've even photoshopped my name on the marquee and put it on my vision board. Having a sold-out show at the Bowl is my "I made it" moment.
