Georgia: Singing along to my mums Oldskool Soul Video compilation, feat. Shalama, Chaka Khan etc. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Erykah Badu, Baduizm Special Edition Floetry, Floetic Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill These were all soundtracks to formative and significant periods in our lives and were in heavy rotation in our households. Neo-soul albums like these truly stand the test of time and feel as relevant now as they did the first time we heard them. Tell us why you chose this song. “Melanin Queens” We wrote this song to our younger selves and in honour of beautiful black women in our lives who have inspired us. The song is a celebration of the often uncelebrated and is the first song from our Black Elixir EP that we performed live. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Having our title track from our EP 'Black Elixir' synced to Bel Air (the reimagining of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air that we grew up watching on TV). Also, getting to perform at Notting Hill Carnival on the iconic Rampage stage with Terri Walker. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Touring at home and abroad is definitely up there. We'd love to feature on NPR Tiny Desk and COLORS. There are artists we would love to collaborate with if the stars aligned. We would love to spend time abroad writing and recording our next project.
