About Matthew Mole

Known for singles like “Take Yours, I’ll Take Mine,” South African singer-songwriter Matthew Mole makes poppy folk with a hint of electronica. • Raised in Cape Town, Mole started his music career playing in an electronic group during college before shifting towards songwriting using stringed instruments like the banjo, ukulele, and acoustic guitar. • Mole self-released his first solo EP, You Did Well, Kid, in 2011. The following year, he won a Converse music contest that earned him a record deal . • The Home We Built, Mole’s first album, arrived in 2013 and debuted atop the South African iTunes chart. The success of the LP led to festival appearances and supporting tours for Bastille and Of Monsters of Men. • Mole’s fanbase continued to grow internationally as he released his 2016 sophomore LP, Run, and 2019’s Ghost, his first album for Universal. Both albums debuted at No. 1 on the South African iTunes chart.
