About Matt Zarley
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 17 years old, I booked my first professional theatre job. That job was the national tour of Cats. At that time, I was the youngest person to be cast in the 80s blockbuster. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill (Remastered) Tom Eyen, Dreamgirls (Original Broadway Cast Album - 1982) Original Broadway Cast Album - 1982 Whitney Houston, Whitney Houston: Greatest Hits These albums were some of the most influential for me personally. Whitney was probably my biggest influence as a singer, Dreamgirls was the first Broadway show I saw and it changed my life, and Jagged Little Pill is the only CD I had to buy twice. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “You Don't Have to Tell Me” I love this song so much because I originally recorded it for my debut album in 2002. This version was recorded 20 years later to commemorate the 20th anniversary of my debut album's release. It was written by Allan Rich & Jud Friedman. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? During the pandemic, I created my project "11 o'Clock Number". It's by far the most ambitious thing I have ever done and the project I am most proud of. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would like to have a song in a film...or I'd like to sing a song featured in a film.
