About Matt Nathanson

Pop-rock singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson’s songs are often heard in films and TV shows, including his faithful cover of James’ “Laid,” which opened the 2003 rom-com American Wedding. ∙ Nathanson’s romantic 2008 single “Come On Get Higher” proved to be his breakthrough, going double-Platinum while appearing on five different US Billboard charts. ∙ The 2011 album Modern Love not only topped the iTunes Pop Album Chart, but it also debuted in the Top 20 of Billboard’s Pop chart. ∙ He cowrote 2011’s “Run” with country act Sugarland and performed the song with the group at that year’s CMA Awards. ∙ In 2013, the Massachusetts native won Songwriter of the Year at the New England Music Awards. ∙ He has performed twice on The Bachelor, including singing “Bill Murray” as one couple from Bachelor in Paradise walked down the aisle at their wedding. ∙ An avowed metal fan, Nathanson released an EP of indie-pop Def Leppard covers, 2018’s Pyromattia, which received a stamp of approval from the band’s frontman, Joe Elliott.
