About Marvelous Darlings

With plenty of swagger and snot-nosed attitude, Marvelous Darlings meet in the middle of a punk-pop/revived garage and power pop mix. The band formed in Toronto in 2007, comprised of No Warning’s Matt DeLong and Ben Cook (Cook better known as F****d Up guitarist Young Governor), deriving their name from a misattributed quote from British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous. Mark Fosco joined soon after and the band debuted on the Deranged label with 7” 'I Don’t Wanna Go to the Party," introducing listeners to their Ramones-meets-Gentleman Jesse sound. Marvelous Darlings offered a steady stream of singles over the next three years with the labels Wall Ride, Bachelor, P Trash, Takenbysurprise, Speedowax, and Plastic Idol, also gaining steam thanks to their raucous live performances. The in-concert energy was captured in 2010 on the Live at Gales LP, with singles roundup Single Life following a year later. ~ Chrysta Cherrie
