In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is hearing Kraftwerk at about seven. It was an advert on TV. I don't remember the ad, but the music was like robots singing, and I was in awe. Soon after, I wrote my parents a letter saying I wanted to do that. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Daft Punk, Homework Julian Bream, Bach: Guitar Pieces by Julian Bream (2023.b Remastered, Vienna 1956) Víkingur Ólafsson, Philip Glass: Piano Works For me it is about emotion. Bream's Bach made me choose the guitar as he played with so much feeling. Homework has this effervescent energy, and anything by Philip Glass is simply hypnotic magic. I can't describe it any other way. It is special. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Nature of Loss” It speaks to all sides of my musicality: classical, electronic, and film scoring. It traces my musical trajectory, who I am as an artist. You can hear it in other neoclassical artists too, like Max Richter, Hildur Guðnadóttir, and Jóhann Jóhannsson. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing the Concert Hall at the Sydney Opera House. A few years earlier my now late father said I'd play there eventually, so when I did, it felt as if I fulfilled his wish. I've performed at other great venues, but that one will always be special. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Many! First, I'd love to collaborate with artists I admire, such as Floating Points and Hania Rani. And second, I want to reinterpret a work by one of the classical greats through my own neoclassical and electronic language.
