About March to May
March to May combines the talents of Beth Wesche and Darren Guyaz, a pair of Seattle-based singer/songwriters whose alluring folk-pop tapestry of harp, acoustic guitar, strings, and harmonies earned them regional acclaim in the latter half of the 2010s. After a chance meeting around a beach bonfire on Washington's Pacific Coast, Wesche and Guyaz forged a musical chemistry, forming March to May in early 2013 and releasing their debut EP, The Water's Edge, two years later. A second EP, The Navigator, followed in 2016 as the duo earned comparisons to contemporary folk luminaries like the Civil Wars and the Swell Season. Their debut album, 2017's Through the Night, saw an expansion of their lush, intricate arrangements and heavy AAA radio play helped them build a wider audience. Following tours of the U.S. and Europe, March to May began work on a series of singles which later grew into a fully realized collection of songs largely centered around a theme of transformation. The album, What I Was and More, was released in 2020. ~ Timothy Monger
