In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My first profound musical experience was in 1976 listening to Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder. My parents bought the album on their trip to Paris and I couldn't stop listening. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? J.J. Cale, Naturally Johnny "Guitar" Watson, The Very Best of Johnny Guitar Watson Randy Newman, The Randy Newman Songbook (Vols. 1, 2 & 3) I love artists who are fully in control of their work, being 100% original. All these artists are exactly that: they write, arrange, play and sing their own songs. And all 3 are kinda underdogs which I seem to prefer. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Back on Track” This song has been quite long in the making, I started writing this song on sheet paper during Musicology classes but it took years to finalise the lyrics - now a testament to the great Johnny Guitar Watson. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I was very young I was lucky to record in some of the most prestigious record studios in The Netherlands - I didn't really know back then, but having been in the studio where the Beach Boys recorded Holland, still gives me goosebumps. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Right now I am on a release cycle of two songs per year which I am planning to increase in 2025. Further more, looking forward to collaborating with other artists and musicians moving forward.
