About Londonbeat
A pop-soul vocal group formed by an English guitarist and singers from America and Trinidad, Londonbeat came together and settled in London, where they signed to David A. Stewart’s AnXious label. Much of Londonbeat’s material was close to a cappella, though they used session musicians when needed. Their debut single, "9AM (The Comfort Zone)," reached the U.K. Top 20 in 1988, but it was 1990's "I've Been Thinking About You" that gave the band their biggest hit, hitting number two and topping the U.S. chart. Further hits followed with "A Better Love" and "Come Back." Londonbeat broke up in the mid-'90s. Jimmy Helms and Jimmy Chambers revived the group in the new millennium, recording 2003’s Back in the Hi-Life with new members Myles Kayne and Marc Goldschmitz. ~ Rovi Staff
